School on Thursday, Feb. 13, is cancelled due to inclement weather. Evening activities for Wednesday, Feb. 12, were cancelled earlier that day.

For several days prior to the storm, a winter storm warning was in effect over the entirety of Northern Virginia, including the two main home counties of Jefferson students, Loudoun County and Fairfax County.

“Where I live, it’s fine, but I’ve driven in Loudoun County and out there it’s more dangerous,” senior Aarthi Prakash said. “If they have heavy snow storms, their process isn’t as efficient.”

This cancellation followed at the heels of another storm in mid-January, which despite not generating as much snowfall as anticipated, was bracketed by many inclement weather days, during which school was cancelled due to extreme low temperatures and transportation issues in the county.

“I drove after the storm. I don’t think it was difficult because most of the roads were clear by the time I drove,” Prakash said.

There is no news on the status on school on Friday, Feb. 15, which is due to be a red day.
