He played on an unofficial team before, which is where he learned most of the skills. “I like being able to be around other guys who like volleyball too,” Wang said. “We all enjoy the sport and volleyball is just fun and exciting to play. It’s cool when we get to hit the ball and make cool plays.”

The players train weekly, even when they have two or more games a week. “During the regular season and even the preseason, we are working as hard as we can so that we can tone it down during the practices when all the games are like every other day,” Chau said.

Girls varsity soccer kicks their way into state tournament

Jefferson wins the Team Districts Title. One of the players, freshman Arnav Talreja, played #1 singles during Team Districts and eventually went on to win the title with Jefferson's team. “It really shows that when we win something, the whole team wins, not just one of us,” Talreja said.
