Here’s some more information regarding some of this morning’s announcements:

The next fact for the BSU Jeopardy event is that on February 26, 1869, Congress sent the Fifteenth Amendment to the states for approval. The amendment would guarantee voting rights for people of all races. Stay tuned for one last factoid!

Today marks the beginning of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week! The National Institute of Mental Health reports that 2.7% of teens ages 13-18 years old struggle with an eating disorder. Please stop by the Principals Conference Room tomorrow during lunch to hear a presentation on eating disorders from our Public Health Nurse.

If you would like to take an AP exam as a Non-Enrolled student, refer to the ION posting. The deadline is March 1.

Today is the first day of Mental Wellness Week at TJ, brought to you by Minds Matter! The goal of this week is to show you that everyday actions can improve your mental health. Today’s theme is healthy habits. Did you know that eating a balanced diet not only keeps you physically healthy, but can improve your mental and emotional functioning too? This week will showcase a variety of healthy practices:

  • Today during lunch, we are hosting a JUST DANCE TOURNAMENT in Nobel commons.
  • Tomorrow our theme is sleep, so don’t forget to wear your PJ’s.
  • Wednesday’s theme is exercise: there will be an open gym during 8th period
  • Thursday’s theme is Random Acts of Kindness.
  • Friday is Stomp Out Stigma. During 8th period, be on the look out for slime and pledge signing.
