TJTV News, Episode 46: Mar. 5, 2018
March 5, 2018
Here is some more information regarding this morning’s announcements:
Key Club is hosting a canned food drive for the Arlington Food Assistance Center until Friday, March 9th. AFAC currently distributes over 80,000 pounds of food per week, 40% of which come from donations. They serve nearly 2,200 families per week and their service numbers continue to grow. The most needed donations are low sodium tomato products, canned tuna, canned beans, canned soup, and cereal, but unopened, unexpired and unprepared foods are welcome. Please help make a difference in the community and bring in food items to one of the boxes in the Nobel or Chem commons, or room 254 (Mr. Field’s room).
If you are a US Citizen and will be 18 on or before November 6th, please visit the Library during lunch and JLC to register with Fairfax County election officers. Bring your social security number (you do not need your Social Security card, only your number, which you should keep safe from others) and register in under 5 minutes. Those students taking a physical government class at TJ will register in their classes. Registering will allow you to participate in party primary elections on June 12th (where the first choice is made) as well as the general election on November 6th.
