Freshmen lined up to see their vehicles in action on Nov. 16, as they climbed up the impossible 4-foot-tall ramp.
After six weeks of intensive mechanical labor, the design process was complete. IBET students tested the amount of time it took their vehicles to climb hills of various heights. This activity allowed r the students to learn about simple machines, mechanical advantage, torque and engineering.
“It gave me a good, solid foundation of engineering and general mechanics,” said freshman Pierce Stegman, “and I’m really looking forward to the rest of the year in design and tech.”
