Key Club and Russian Honor Society (SLAVA) are hosting a relief drive to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The drive will last through December 7.
Collection bins are located in Rooms 210, 214, 218, 223 and in the College Career Center. The clubs are accepting unused clothing, gift bags, containers, tape, items as well as new toiletries.
“We need imperishable food items and small toys for kids up to ages 11 and 12,” senior Gordon Hart, president of Key Club, said.
The idea for the drive started with a group of teachers with relatives in affected areas of New Jersey. The teachers, who drive there almost every weekend, are taking the donated items to various shelters.
“We don’t have a numerical goal, and I know the storm has kind of blown over for us,” Hart said. “We want to help the people who are still living in shelters in the cold.”
