Each episode features a different mystery and showcases the members’ race against time to find the murderer and save the victims. The team catches its criminals not only by relying on their deductive skills and evidence from the crime scenes but also by “profiling” their suspects’ behavior and characteristics. 

Haikyuu!! (Netflix/Crunchyroll, 3 seasons, Sports Anime)

Volleyball is a sport dominated by height, but Hinata Shouyo stands determined at 5’4” to conquer the court. Inspired by seeing a national volleyball game on TV in elementary school and spurred on by a stunning defeat is his first and only game in middle school, Hinata gains a love for the sport and joins Karasuno High School’s volleyball club. Haikyuu!! follows Hinata and his fellow team members as they overcome struggles to fly high on the court.

Locke and Key (Netflix, 1 season, Supernatural Horror/Drama)

After their father is murdered, Kinsley, her two brothers Bode and Tyler, and her mother Nina move into their father’s old house, the Key House. In the house, they find magical keys unlocking the past along with many mysteries. Every episode is skillfully crafted into one of suspense, shaping it into a creative must-watch show.

On My Block (Netflix, 3 seasons, Comedy-drama)

A combination of originality, unpredictableness, and comedy makes “On My Block” the perfect show to binge-watch. Taking place in a Hispanic and African American community in Los Angeles, California, four friends Monse, Cesar, Ruby, and Jamal work their way through high-school with the added problems of gang rivalries, relationships, and trauma. 

The Good Place (Netflix, 3 seasons, Comedy/Fantasy)

In Eleanor Shellstrop’s universe, humans acquire positive or negative point values based on their actions in life. Believed to be one of the highest point-gatherers in the world, Shellstrop is welcomed to “The Good Place” after her death but soon realizes that she is there by mistake. In order to stay in The Good Place, she convinces her soulmate Chidi Anagonye, former ethics and moral philosophy professor, to teach her how to be “good.” 

You (Netflix, 2 seasons, Psychological Thriller)

At first, Joe Goldberg appears to be like any other young millennial in New York. He runs a small bookstore, Mooney’s, to make ends meet and lives in an apartment in the city. However, Goldberg pursues love in an untraditional way: stalking and killing to get closer to the girl of his dreams. This thriller begins on a fateful day when aspiring writer Guinivere Beck walks into Mooney’s and catches Goldberg’s eye. 

Psych (Amazon Prime, 8 seasons, Detective-fiction/Comedy-drama)

“Detective” Shawn Spencer uses skills learned from his detective father when he was young to join the Santa Barbara Police Department with his partner Gus under the guise of a psychic. This light-hearted comedy is fun to watch with family and bound to leave you singing along to the iconic theme song by the end of the first season.

How I Met Your Mother (Hulu, 9 seasons, Sitcom/Romantic-comedy)

A story for his children, older Ted shares his past quest of how he met their mother in a series of voice-overs and flashbacks. When his long-time friends Marshall and Lily announce their engagement, Ted recognizes his dwindling time to find true love. The show follows his mission to find love with friends Marshall, Lily, Barney, and Robin. Packed with comedy and love, the show unravels a mix of laughter and feelings.

The Bold Type (Hulu, 3 seasons – ongoing, Comedy-drama)

Contemporary, stylish, and successful, a parallel is drawn between the characters and the show itself. This feminist-empowered show encapsulates the lives of best-friends, Kat, Jane, and Sutton working at Scarlet Magazine respectively as the head of Social Media, a writer, and an assistant. It captures their lives as three young women balancing work and relationships in New York, all the while trying to find themselves.
