Placing first among other reality series, “Love Island USA,” season six is now the top-streamed show in the U.S as of July according to USA network.
Participants from all around America went to Fiji island for a six-week trip hoping to find love and earn some cash. While “Love Island USA Season 6,” has had many seasons in the past, this season seemed to be getting a lot of attention this past summer compared to previous seasons. In each season of “Love Island USA,” the winning couple leaves the villa with $100,000 in their hands.
While the season started off interesting, it got hard to follow along with all the new contestants that got introduced. A total of 23 contestants newly entered the villa throughout the show. It got a little confusing at times for me and there would be times I forget the new contestants names. That being said, season six had heightened social media presence compared to previous seasons, so I would say it was one of the best seasons of “Love Island USA”. The social media presence for this season brought a lot of attention to season six specifically, for previous seasons there wasn’t as much social media presence.
Many TikTok and Instagram users have been posting videos and clips of “Love island USA Season 6,” which is something that has skyrocketed this past summer. Streaming for season six has been doubled compared to previous seasons. People on social media have also taken this a bit too far. To be specific, many people have been calling out contestant Andrea Carmona for being a mean girl on the show. However during the Love Island reunion Carmona apologized for her actions and stated that some of her comments were taken out of context. Even if Carmona hadn’t apologized, individuals on social media took this too far, and it’s important to realize that on “Love Island USA,” the contestants are real people and not actors playing a part as a character.
Although social media users have been taking the drama from this season too far, social media users did bring newfound fame to the contestants. From being reality TV stars to influencers with brand deals and collaborations. It’s surprising that these contestants’ brief moments of fame have turned into a career all because of users of social media. Not only did the cast of season six receive a lot of fame, the cast of season six was also one of the most diverse “Love Island USA,” cast.
So, is season six the best “Love Island USA,” season? Yes. If you’re interested in watching the show, ensure you watch it as episodes are released to vote through public polls for the winning couple.
