Aarya Kumar, a senior at TJ, is entering his third year of journalism. Serving as a team leader in his junior year, Aarya oversaw a team of six staff writers by setting deadlines, editing articles, and assisting with any concerns. This past summer, he was also selected to represent Virginia in Al Neuharth’s Free Spirit conference about investigative journalism. Aarya’s favorite parts about journalism are conducting interviews and writing sports articles. Outside of journalism, Aarya enjoys relaxing with friends, skiing in the winter, solving puzzles like Rubik’s cube, and listening to pop-rap music.
