On Nov. 10, as part of the marine field trip, students had the opportunity to visit the Chesapeake Bay and fish from the boat. Holding up the blue crab, junior Ella Tysse was able to identify the male blue crab by its sternum. “It was rare to find a male Blue Crab because it was wintry and they should be starting to settle down now, but it would be rarer if we find a female blue crab because they don't really live near Maryland,” Tysse said.
