Talking with a friend, sophomore Rahel Selemon wears a traditional Ethiopian dress. TJ International Day gave students an occasion to display their cultural clothing. “There’s no direct translation [of the dress] but ‘habesha kemis’ is close. It’s usually worn with a shawl called ‘netela’ and almost all the dresses will have some kind of ‘cross’ embroidery in various colors,” Selemon said.
